Saying hello

Postby DimMakDaddy » Tue 28 Feb 2017, 12:57 pm

Hi all,

My name is Ed, I've been lurking around for a good while now and been meaning to introduce myself.
I'm 36 years old and from Glasgow, Scotland. My work colleague/friend Malbordus made me aware of the OAPs and that you are a good crowd.

I've been gaming since Commodore 64, playing Last Ninja 2 and Midnight Resistance. Had a Mega Drive, Mega CD, 32x, then Playstation, PS2, Dreamcast, XBox, XBox 360 and now PS4. Been playing a bit of The Division recently and will probably pick up Ghost Recon next week.

Cheers,

Good to see you finally put up an intro.

Ed is a good guy with the exception of a Friday night when he hits the whiskey! 8O

Hello Ed
Welcome and I hope you enjoy your stay. I can be found lazing about in BF1 most Sunday nights with a few others of the Brothers and Sisters of OAP. Yes I said Sister we do have female players and damn good they are too.
peace and love

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the welcome.

The name comes from a mix of "Dim Mak" which means "touch of death" and Mac Daddy. If any of you have seen the film "BloodSport" with Jean Claude Van Damme, Dim Mak is the style of pressure point Kung Fu he is supposed to use in it. I'm a bit of a martial arts fan.

"RogueTrooper" is an excellent nick name too. I guess you like 2000 AD? I used to get the comics delivered every week when I was a kid. I think Rebellion have just announced a new Rogue Trooper game for PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.

I might have to get a copy of BF1 and try it out.

Cheers,

Ed

Welcome!

But are the Mac Daddy or the Daddy Mac? The migida-migida-migida-migida-migida Mac?

Glasgow was the only place I ever stayed where the hotel room door had a hole in it that someone seemed to have punched through.

32X eh? I'd love one of those for Star Wars Arcade.

Fan as in "I own a copy of Black Medicine"

Never played the first RT game, but I know it was fairly well received. Keeping a close eye out for the next one though :)

Haha yeah, I might have a copy of that, along side Ninja Hands of Death.

I played a little bit of RT on the Wii; expect the new one should be good. It was a great story in 2000 AD

Haha yeah, Glasgow is a bit strange that way. Generally really friendly and welcoming people, but can get a bit edgy after dark :). Might be the whisky, like Malbordus mentioned.

I think there was only about 3 games for the 32x. Star Wars Arcade, Virtual Fighter and Doom. All 3 were brill.
