Do you remember when you could just plug stuff into your TV and it would just work. Good times. Now you have to check the settings on the TV, PS4 the amp, check the cables. What a ball ache.

I have to have a landline for our alarm system, when that rings I know it's going to be one of four things:

1) My Parents, usually at a time when everyone else is in bed so I panic to answer it before they all wake up.
2) People trying to call a Dr Surgery who stupidly had a typo on their phone number on their prescription forms so people call us to make an appointment. They had changed this but there are still some old forms out there.
3) Canvassers, but only at election time.
4) Some wuckfit from an Indian Call Centre pretending to be from Telstra/Microsoft/etc claiming my PC is infected so I need to do some things with it. These seem to hang up when I answer now as i do enjoy winding them up.

Hi Catsman and welcome to our humble abode Mullentino is right at 70+ that would make you the oldest OAP currently we reckon that's me at 68 so sit on down beside me on the pisshy sofa.
I play mostly FPS games and over the years as the reaction time dulls I spend lots of time at the bottom of the leaderboards but at least its constant.
peace and love

Thanks for the welcome folk. I am afraid I cannot look in most threads and don’t see how I can answer specific posts. But thanks.

Hi Cat,

I am still not sure what you are looking to get out of joining OAP.

You mentioned wanting someone to mentor you in games in your original post. What game are you currently playing? And what are you stuck on?

Maybe once we understand that we can help. Most of the stuff you will see when you get in is more discussion than guides or anyone telling you what to do. We are more about playing and chatting together than publishing guides.

Cheers

Hi Catsman, the posts I was originally referring to you answering are the ones in this thread, not elsewhere on the forum.
Its here, your introduction thread, where other members have welcomed you & some have asked you questions.

Thanks for the welcomes. But I don’t get it. As a registered user and still not able to even look at some boards, let alone post on them, I cannot see any purpose in visiting the board.

Cat, As a registered user there are some forums that are open to you. Registered user is granted to anyone who is not a spammer or a bot, or russian porn site.
Once you post an intro and interact with the community, you will be admitted to the Bowling club. That grants you access to all the other forums on our site, which tends to be where the discussions take place.

In fact, I have just opened up our entire world to you, and as you will see, your name has changed from Black to Blue, just like magic.

If you'd like to respond to a specific post, click on the 'Quote' icon.. It's at the top right on an individual post.

Thanks for the hi but there does not seem to be much going on here or is it I am not allowed to see it. I think it’s best I move on.

I tend I get out of something what I put in, and perhaps just signing up to a board and not engaging is not the best way to reap the benefits of a community?

Now don't get me wrong, when you join OAPS you can come and go as you please, and put in as little or much as you like.

For example i don't play much online at all at the moment, just current circumstances haven't given me that time. So I am currently getting and giving little at the moment. But it will be here when i'm ready again.

But to moan about it? Nah mate. I mean in my reply on this very thread I invited you to add me on PSN. Nowt.
