The Elders welcome Pallol!

Postby The Elders » Wed 24 Mar 2004, 4:09 pm

Pallol,

The Elders welcome you to the Bowling Club, you should receive an email shortly confirming membership, then all we need to do is the full body cavity search (conducted by Nebbs and his wire brush) and chuckle over the video we made of it.

In light of the Bicentennial moment you missed out on, as I assume you are completely unaware of, you are alledgedly our 201st member to the OAP Clan. Alot will now ride on what you say or do, the future, nay the very safety of OAP will reside with you...

(The Elders get whispered at urgently from behind)

Oh, it wont. Well in that case, come on in, pull up a chair and make yourself comfortable. Post on the forums, join in on the games and have some fun.

Once agin welcome to OAP!

Thanks for the acceptance, and hi to all of you who posted in reply. I hope to see you all in the games.

@Hooded Claw
Those were the days, when gameplay was everything and graphics were about as basic as you can get. I now realise that Ant Attack missed one vital element, a simple "Stick Man has fragged 3D Ant with M67" would have seen the game complete.

@Ocean
Skool Daze is one of the games I always seem to play when I stumble across a C64 emulator. Boulder Dash was always more fun when you ran off the edge of the screen cos you were going too fast. Ah...that ting ting ting of diamonds!

@Rouguetrooper
Thing on a Spring eh, that brings back memories. Did you ever play Bounder?

@DaddyR
The car I used as an avatar was the Porsche owned by my uncle when he was a young man. I don't have a 911 myself, just a collection of model ones and a full size MK2 Golf GTI 16v.

@Repo
Ah the BBC Micro. My cousins had one, and both completed Dropzone, 100 levels as I recall. The clicky keyboard and being twice the size of any of the other computers available really set it apart.

So as the 201th member of the bowling club, I would just like to say........

Has anyone seen my biscuits......

Nurse?

...........Snore...........

What's more confusing is that Claw was thinking of a Spitfire of the plane variety, he never had one it's just that the medication used to do funny things to his head particularly when he'd claim the rocking chair Ringo usually sits in. He'd rock to and fro shouting "Cabbage crates coming over the briney" or "Bally ten-penny ones in the custard" all the while wearing a pair of swimming goggles.

Yesterday he was convinced he was a bagpipe, I heard him asking nursey if she wanted to have a toot.

So there you have it. Ten years in OAP. Not gaming so much these days on the PlayStation, but still drop in here from time to time. Defcon has promised to keep an eye on my stuff and to set fire to anyone who sits in my armchair :twisted:

Looking forward to the next decade, and another post in March 2024 :D

Happy 10th dude. I enjoyed reading that old thread with some names from the past in it (Doomspoon!)

Basically mentioning Speccy or C64 got you in back then didn't it? - in 16 hours in the case :lol:

I think it helped that we'd all seen each other on SOCOM or Hardware: Online Arena. Not like the kids today, they don't know what it was like back then :grandpa:

Yes, yes you are.....

The high score table was brilliant, I got a real sense of how much effort you had to put in to overtake me at the top 8)
