Good news for Virgin customers as its speeds are to be doubled. Rollout starts next month.

Awesome! I was looking into getting the 100meg anyway, now I will get it upgraded for free! :D

300Mbps - will become available in a limited number of "superfast" areas.

Just think of theload on their crappy caching proxy servers. You'll actually only get about 10KB/S sustained because of their appalling infrastructure :P

Strange how they're different times for more or less the same area.

My FTTH goes in soon. well, when I say soon I mean two weeks later than scheduled. Originally they called me before Xmas asking for three dates when i'd be available for the install, so I gave them the second week of Jan. They rang just before then and because I asked to be informed _when_ it would be so I could organise time off work (something they seemed to overlook) they panicked and asked for three more the following week, which I gave. Then they texted me in the middle of that week telling me it was scheduled for the new date, which is two weeks later than the last date I gave them, hopeless.

Good to see cable companies are just as unorganised all over the world, and I did used to work for one! (well before it became Virgin)

Still, hopefully i'll be getting three times the Downstream for a third of what i'm currently paying, nice, if it ever happens.

It's funny as fuck when I get BT or competitors ringing the house to sell me phone or broadband. When I tell them I'm on 50meg they say ok and soon fuck off
