I have stuck my name down for Sally's Ride (25km) in a couple of weeks.

I've also switched to using Strava as my GPS thingy, it has lots of segments where you can compare your times over certain stretches against other Strava users. I'm VERY slow.

Bought myself a Garmin Edge 200 and used it for the first time today on the charidee ride.

Not been out on my bike in awhile (have a specialized allez) not got much cold weather gear so may only be the odd outing till the weather gets better.

I'm not too keen on driving but the dark and cold does make the car look more appealing.

Hope i'm not cursing in Church here (Dutch proverb), but I absolutely hate cycling. My parents used to take me and my sisters cycling every weekend, for far too long than my little legs could handle. Had overkill :(

Glad you lads enjoy it though. I'm running and use Endomondo which is free on Android and pretty good.

Stretched myself a bit today and racked up 51km. Its easier going out when the sun is shining and the temperature is in the mid 20s though :)

Had my first "off" for a long time today. Was riding into work, just going up my second climb, got towards the top, thought I could really power the last bit, and started to push hard. What looked like a wet road, was infact an icy road and the bike just went sideways under me.

The bruise on my hip still hasn't come out (it's still very red, and I came off 8 hours ago), and it bloody hurts.

And, I broke the stays on my mudguards (which isn't a problem, but I have a new bike on order, and don't really want to buy new ones for the 6 weeks I've got left of this bike).

Ouch, Naking. How is it now?

<Touches wood> I haven't had an off since October when a guy pulled out off the kerb without indicating to do a u-turn. All very well and good, except for a couple of things :

1) It was dark and he didn't have on any lights, so I had no idea he was a vehicle I'd have to be 'prepared' to brake for.
2) It was absolutely chucking it down and visibility was poor.
3) He didn't check his mirrors anyway.

I hit the drivers front wing and did my best 'sliding across wet bonnet and landing on my rucksacked back like an upturned turtle' impression I've seen for quite some time.

Take it easy.

I've been riding to work for a while now, with no real issues except for the bellends that open their car doors without looking.

Oh, some tit beeped me on Saturday as I was obviously on his own personal road and shouldn't have been there. Wanker.

Maybe he was signalling his appreciation of your lycra clad self?

If his eyes are that bad, he shouldn't be driving.

Bruises are gone, and taken most of the aches and pains with them. This morning was my first (rather slow) ride since last last Monday. It's going to snow tonight / tomorrow (according to the weathermen's guesses), so I'll see if I'm so brave in the morning.

I get my new Winter Bike on Friday!

This means, of course, there isn't room in the naking garage for my ever growing bike collection*

So, if anyone wants a well used, Trek 7.0FX 2010, and they can get to deepest darkest Worcestershire (well Redditch), it's there for the taking.

As I said, it was been well used. It's done 7000 KMs, most of which have been during the winter, so it has seen more than it's fair share of dirty, salty water. It needs a bit of TLC, but nothing too major. It rolls well. and to be fair, it really is a fantastic commuter / fitness bike.

When new, it looked like this

If anyone wants it, PM me and we'll sort out a collection.

* by no room, I of course mean that the current Mrs naking says I'm not allowed to keep it
