Hoping to drop in more often...

Postby WESTIE_UK » Tue 30 Aug 2016, 7:24 am

Good Morning OAPS,
How are we all?

Stopping by to say that I am now able to be online more often now, so if anyone missed me, this is good news for you... for anyone that didn't, this is still good news for you haha.

So is everyone keeping up their gaming? What is everyone liking at the minute? What is next on the gaming shopping list?

It feels good to be back in these damp halls :)

Alright Westie?

I'm playing No Man's Sky at the moment and really enjoying it although like Mulletino I do occasionally get a bit too relaxed when playing it and drop off to sleep!

hmm. I'm mixed. Without thinking I would say no, it's not worth the money. But then when I think about it I am wasting plenty of time in it!

I find it relaxing.

I imagine it would be quite the experience in vr,

Well I can't speak for boba, but i'm very well thanks!
As for multiplayer games I think i will be back online more when battlefield 1/next cod gets here.

Yeah I'm good Westie.

NMS is a beautiful game and can produce incredible moments as you explore.

*BUT* there is a lot of inventory management involved, especially early on when you have very few slots and that's a pain in the arse. It's also pretty grindy, depending on what you're trying to achieve and also not particularly stable - I've had about 5 or 6 crashes so far although it does save every time you get out of your ship and also at the numerous save points on the planets.

So definitely not perfect (yet) but I am really enjoying it a lot and feel like I'm personally getting good value from it

I've decided to start by trying to max out my inventory slots on my multitool, suit and ship so I don't have to worry about them any more and then get down to the real business of exploring or following the Atlas path. I've maxed out the multitool and suit and my ship is currently 33 slots out of 48 possible (very slow going upgrading your ship!).

Got my invite to the Battlefield 1 open beta today so I'll be trying that out for sure

Yo Westie!

Yeah NMS is my current choice, really enjoying just feeling part of a sci-fi novel and stuff with my fingers crossed it does get PSVR support as i'm eagerly awaiting that too! It can get a bit too relaxing though as Boba mentioned, i've woken up in some strange predicaments in it.

Prior to that, DOOM was my new game of choice, was rather addicted to the MP of that as it was quick and fun. More so than CoD I reckon. I did eventually get the SW:BF season pass, but haven't actually played it much since, just waiting on that Death Star Expansion and the VR X-Wing missions, that'll rock.

So what's been keeping you busy of late online?
