Telltale Games

So it seems that they have filed for bankruptcy and reduced their staff from 250 to 25. They have also stopped working on the walking dead, this means the last two episodes will not get released. Apparently they have been moved to work on the Netflix Minecraft deal.

This will be the first time a season pass is not fulfilled. Seems to me you should be refunded but I guess that'll be down to the retailers.

Yep, got burned on this one too. 18.99 for half a game. Got it through the ps store, i doubt they'll refund fuck all tbh. :soapbox:

Just read somewhere on twatter, that they are keeping a skeleton crew to finish the walking dead and nothing else.

Dunno how true it is though.

well that's a surprise i guess walking dead wasn't the cash cow for them after all
the companies wiki page reads as though they deliberately went down the one trick pony route of game development to diminishing returns
haven't touch their games since wolf among us & walking dead season 2 both of which were badly delayed and really disappointing games for me. the first walking dead and Sam & max devils playhouse were really good

There's a chart somewhere online, their games didn't sell well at all. The first walking dead game sold amazingly, main reason being, the TV show was relatively new, so was bought mostly as it was popular. Every game since has dropped rapidly in sales.

They've got good writers so I reckon many will find work elsewhere at least.

I'd get on to Sony for refunds if it was through the store, end of the day the season pass hasn't been fulfilled.

This is surprising. Edge magazine just did a full page news article on Tellrale saying that the new CEO was focusing on quality not quantity. It also said that the studio was a basket case that existed on 100% crunch that had become unmanageable, leading to huge staff dissatisfaction, but new management were fixing this.

Looks like too little too late.

Which is a shame, for the employees, and I have enjoyed their games but I'm not sure I've paid for many as they were on PS+.

And come to think of it, there was no option to buy the episodes individually, like all previous entrys. Buying the season pass was the only way to get access to the first episode. :?

Sounds a bit sinister now...

Was never a fan of their slightly interactive stories tbh.

I love their games, but i can totally see why they went bankrupt.

They over saturated the market with very samey games, and people quickly realised that if you wait, before the season is even finished that you can get the game for knock down prices.

They needed to realise 4 years ago, they needed to go the quality not quantity route.

Its a shame as not many companies make their style of games for consoles, i have enough shootbang shooters, that their games were a nice palate cleansers.

Yeah, they emailed me 2 days before they went bust, trying to tempt me into buying the season pass. Seems like a really shitty thing to do, looking back on it.
