OLD and Proud GRID challenge.

Postby Acegadgets » Sat 14 Feb 2009, 4:17 pm

FB from the old and prouds has sugested a grid recent between us. I've accepted the challenge and suggest the following race between Ghostwhite oaps and the oad and prouds .
THIS TUESDAY would be fine for us, if its too short notice then next weekend or midweek the following week would be fine. You guys decide.
heres the format we are using in ourFeb Event. if its OK with you let us know and also the time . 9 pm might be best for us.

Each team can have up to 6 racers from each team .
To warm up we start off with a lastman standing demolition derby .
This isn't a race as such, just a bit of fun but the last man standing gets to start on POLE for the next qualifying race. His team mates green up in positions 3, 5, 7, 9, and 11(if there are that many)
Qualifying then takes place at Le Mans with a 6 min race, damage on using LMPT cars in the virginmobile classic. At the end of the race whatever position you finnish in you start on the grid in the main race.
ISTANBUL is the venue for the ACTUAL race with the ever so popular SPYKERS being the chosen car. Damage will be ON and there will be 5 laps. Its not a long race therefore getting a good position on the Le mans qualifier will be important.
ONLY the top 4 racers in each team will score team points in the main Istanbul race.
1st = 10pts
2nd = 8 pts
3rd = 6 pts
4th = 5 pts
5th = 4 pts
6th = 3 pts
7th = 2 pts
8th = 1 pts

If some teams only have 3 players they will be allocated an invisible car that will pick up a single point , If they only field 2 players then they will have 2 invisible cars deemed to have finished in 7th and 8th places and collecting 2 and 1 pt .

If that sounds OK FB then fine, if not what do you suggest?

We went over and said hi, to the old and prouds last night had a good night racing against them. There were 4 ghosties with scar bringing up the rear of the old age playstioners. The old and prouds let us win most of the races and we in the GW's let scar into the top 3 on a couple of occasions so that he wouldn't spit out his dummy and take the huff.
I must say the Old and Prouds are a real nice bunch of guys and I look forward to the 6 v 6 on Tuesday night.

Totally agree - had an excellent night's gaming last night.

Looking forward to more of the same.

The comment about the carpet tape still had me chuckling this morning!!

Well done to your lads last night. Not sure if anyone did take a photo. I remember your star driver the_kelf winning the detsruction Derby and taking Pole posisition in the qualifying. Our Hobz started second and thats kind of how the qualifying ended.
From Recolection Our starters in the race were Hobz, JKrohn1, Scarface, Johnd2000, P newson and myself. Spruit disconected before the start and a reserve came in. Shame really as Spruijt is pretty good.
The Kelf won the main race with Hobz second , then your guys getting 3rd and 4th, ours fifth and sixth. Not sure after that, but you won the race.
Next time we should maybe have a series of races.
The green ups didn't work too well , the first 5 or 6 worked ok then the timer ran out (putting me in last).
We'll have to do it again in a few weeks , it was very good fun.
.
NOW. How about COD 4 next week. Midweek late on after 10pm was mentioned last night. Any takers?

If enough are interested and we can come up with a date and time we'll put an event up and the first 8 or so can take part.
