England vs. Germany

Postby Gilgenbach » Thu 24 Nov 2011, 8:57 am

Hello everyone,

no, this is not a challenge. Only an idea.

This http://www.konsolen-oldies.de/ is the website of the "german" OAPs.
They seem to have quite a lot of members and specialise in console gaming (mainly PS3).

A "england vs. germany battlefield match" or "UK OAPs vs. Deutsche Pensionäre" sounds like a good idea to me. Would anyone be interested and if so, would I be allowed to contact them?

Brilliant idea Wusie. I say go for it.

Send them this challenge:

"Willst du Ärger, Großmaul?"

I think you may earn the title 'OAP german ambassador'

Wheres a facebook "like" when you need one, great idea, lets hope we get private rooms sooner rather than later so we can implement it.

Good work Mr Ambassador Wusie

Could we do that without "private" servers? Can we join an empty one with 24 players? What about a formal declaration of "war", I could translate that and pass it on :-)

I will register myself on their platform now, alias "Queens German Legion".

Still the last question, would it be ok for me to try to organise something like this? Dont want to break the "house-rules".

Cu guys.

Brill idea :Y:

But seeing as there are OAP's from all over the place, lets just keep it to OAP's vs Deutsche Pensionare ( although England v Germany does have more bite to it ) :)

Seeing as you just included " declaration of War" into the thread, how about OAP allies :D

Private rooms are much better for match situations, you get no randomers joining.

There are no issues about the suggestion Wusie, you are raising the questions and evryone is up for it.

The way things go round OAP at the moment though, this could probably escalate into a major diplomatic incident and result in the collapse of Europe.

As to randomers joining, we could just start with a "Freundschaftsspiel", before staging any massive, international events.

Just get 12+ Konsolenoldies and 12+ OAPs together, pop into an empty server and play.

I will send them a basic message first to ask wether there is any interest

Isn't it only BF3 where you can't currently do private rooms? Thought all other games were fine.

Hi Shroud,

I should have called my thread Battlefield 3 - England/Germany :-)

Actualy I was thinking about that game, as it seems to be very popular with the "Konsolen-Oldies" aswell.

Well the problem with joining an empty room would be that you would be unable to chosoe peoples sides, you could switch and stuff but it would be really hard to get fullsides then you also have the Rest of battlefield randoms being added ass the server fills up.

In the last matches I was always placed into OAP squads when I used the "join session" button of the PSN friends list. No problems at all.

Anyway, I will drop them a line to see if theres any interest at all, and for what games if thats ok for you guys.

well you go for it then mate :) i'll be here waiting with the "i told you so" sign ;)

If you can get a full room of OAPs on one side and the opponents on the other by the start of the second game and no PSN randoms, and get the game type and maps you have planned before hand, then i'll denounce england and Support Zee Germans at next years Euro championship.

Other games enquiry would work too, quite a varied selection on here with OAPs.
