The "hot topic" - what do you want to hear?

Postby DaddyR » Tue 16 Sep 2008, 3:21 pm

The one thing that we found in Episode 0.5 is given a range of subjects to discuss we can waffle on for hours. So we've decided is what we want is the chance to discuss one "hot topic" per recording. And because this is a podcast aimed at the OAP community it makes sense that the community provides some topics for the presenters to discuss.

So go on. Post up some ideas as to what you would like to see discussed. Think of it as a merger between Web 2.0 and LBP - OAP generated content  .

The presenters (ideally including the topic nominator if they're up for it) will have a discussion in advance of each show about what topic they think will lead to the best discussion.

I put forward the idea of a socom noob guide.

Also like on radio 1 a few quickfire questions to a member of oap.

I feel a stroll down Sentiment Street would be fun. Perhaps choose a diff computer/console each time and witter on about the good old days etc.

Or even the kinda games n toys we played with in our yoof. I realise that this is possibly not linked to gaming, per se.

Games that broke the mould. Games that were truly fecked up. Best game music. Best gfx. Best playability. Game characters that would win in a fight against each other. lol. Who the best OAP is (whose name begins with, say, 'S' and ends in 'ydark'. ;)

I probably have a lot more ideas but most will be cack. I'll open the sluicegates later ;)

Mrs HC would like to know what we wear when gaming, maybe a fashion slot - or whether we are all in dressing gowns like myself...

Also something on the effect gaming has on partners and if thats at all considered.

Lol,

A brief interview with partners who don't understand gaming - my wife would be a prime example.

n00b guides sound good - just dont limit it to Socom.

n00b corner on how to upgrade your HDD, play warhawk, Rainbow 6 Vegas, Burnout etc.

Trophy Whores - who are they, why do they care?

Podcast Crap Joke thread - one crap joke from our annals an episode

OAP Question Time - Coss between Radio 4 Gardners Question Time and In the Night Garden

OAP - Do you remember? 1 min reminisce about Rhubarb & Custard, The Amazing Adventures of Morph, Elite, Heidi etc.

OAP Cereal - Follow the fascinating Adventures of Captain Crumbly and his battles against the Underage Unwashed.

Spoilers - Sneaky tips from OAPs that have completd some game or another.

Anyhoo I will shut up now....

here yer go then...

Top 5 gaming moments

from the spectrum to the ps3 what made your jaw drop? was it the bit where the track disappeared in wipeout? maybe the tomb raider t-rex? the dog jumping through the window in resident evil?

Horror Games
Halloween will soon be upon us, so lets discuss the new up and coming resident evil and Ghostbusters games or any other horror spooky games.
If we can sort out the technical stuff we might be able to put some horror sound effects in the background during the editing process.

How about a release date section with up and coming new releases and patches for already released titles?

This may sound like crazy talk...or it could possibly be the best idea I have ever come up with.

Given that LittleBIGPlanet has voice comms, the ability to make absolutely anything...and given that either the game itself has a record video function or you hook the PS3 up to some sort of video recording equipment (top loading betamax being the obvious choice for the HD coniseur!).

...Could you infact make a OAP / LBP TV spot????

This would also mean more people from OAP could get involved as well!

We could then use a locked online video archive, and broadcast to this very thread, or one much like it????

This could also be downloaded to your iPod, walkman etc.

Mock me if I'm crazy...love me if its the best idea ever!!! :D

How about a 60 second rant?

bit like the soap box on the forums - 60 seconds to sound off about something that's made your blood boil

and perhaps nightsun could finish each podcast with a song? - burnout 3 style

Top topic - My contribution would be the positive side. Me and the missus never argue (I know, it sounds wierd but its true), and can compromise really well. I have a few tips that might help others keep em sweet. (Apart from Skuzz, I've never had to suck my partner off to get telly time ;) )
