I disagree.

I think they perform a vital service.

Where else could we obtain our "Legal High's", Penis Extensions, Viagra, Microsoft Software, Cheep Pharmas, oh and Steroids from?

It saves me having to trawl the entire internet for crap, it's all brought directly to my inbox. And for that I'm eternally grateful.*

*Actually I'm not at all and it annoys the living Fcuk out of me, I wish they would all just spam each other and leave us in a spam free world.

PS: Anyone know where I can get some Tramadol from?! ;)

I'm quite happy to volunteer to hold an account delete for spammers. I'd only delete obvious spammers accounts - honest..

I have a horrible feeling I may have accidentally deleted it in my last mammoth bout of spam removal...

I'll set up another thread.

I disagree too - without them I'd have no work :)

Could always install Akismet - http://akismet.com - I'm sure there is phpbb module.
